GE Rentals wins Hire Company of the Year Under $10M at HIRE22

A ‘one-stop forklift and access equipment hire shop’ has been voted the year’s best hire company in the under $10M turnover category. GE Rentals’ win was announced at the Hire and Rental Industry Association’s annual convention held at Adelaide.

GE Rentals director Barry Hibbert accepted the award at the HIRE22 Awards Gala Dinner on May 26 in front of an audience of 400 HRIA members at HIRE22.

“It’s a surprise to win,” said Barry (pictured). “You’re always hopeful, but thank you to the Hire and Rental Industry Association and judges. We do work hard to make sure our safety standards are among the best around.”

Barry also thanked his daughter Jennifer, who joined GE Rentals 10 years ago in a key role where she applies her professional legal and accounting qualifications to the business.

GE Rentals (also known as General Equipment Rentals) supply the worksite hire needs of Melbourne CBD, Campbellfield, Dandenong and further afield, with LP gas, battery and electric-powered forklifts, rough terrain vehicles, walkie stackers, scissor lifts, booms, telehandlers and their related attachments.

The HRIA judging panel was impressed by GE Rentals’ consistent growth and success over the past decade, and the company’s ability to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic conditions to remain profitable during that time. GE Rentals are also known for their extensive support and sponsorships of multiple community organisations and sport clubs in the local areas of the regions they supply.

GE Rentals were finalists for this award in 2019.

In the $10 million-plus division of the HIRE22 Hire Company of the Year Award, the HRIA panel selected Conplant as the winner.
