HIRE AND RENTAL NEWS • NOVEMBER 2016

ASSOCIATION

Our Association is working for members

president's

message

Jeff Bernard, National President

It was a productive day and fun

evening at our recent National AGM in

Adelaide, and great to catch up with

my fellow HRIA Board Members for

our National Board Meeting during

the day. The majority of our Board

Members have significant roles in

their own organisations and are very

generous in volunteering their time to

the Association. I thank them for their

continued contribution and all the work

they do behind the scenes.

Over the past few months we’ve had a

few of our Board Members step down

and on behalf of the Association and

members, I would like to say a big thank

you to Saul Heffernan from Big Screen

Video, our South Australia President

who will be stepping down at the next

SA AGM and Liz Ward our National Vice

President formerly from Kennards Hire.

We appreciate all of their input and hard

work for the Association and wish them

all the best in their future endeavours.

We are pleased to confirm Braden

Murrin – Kennards Hire as National Vice

President.

On behalf of the Association we thank

Braden for stepping up into this position

and we look forward to working with him.

Hire and Rental News Magazine – Allison

Leo and Michelle Grady continue to do a

fantastic job with the Magazine.

The August issue saw the introduction

of separate Access in Action and Events

in Focus digital uploads on the website.

This allows readers

to quickly jump

through to news

relevant to their

specific industries.

In this November

issue you’ll find

content focusing

on Trailer &

Truck mounted

EWPs, Changes

in Legislation and

numerous other

informative industry

articles.

Remember – all the

previous issues of

the magazine can be

found on the HRIA

website under the

magazine tab. This is a fantastic resource

for industry information the Association

works hard to provide.

HRIA website

Regarding the HRIA website please be

reminded all member company details

are listed on the HRIA website, which

is used by the public to search for plant

and equipment. Make sure your details

are up to date; you can do this under the

Member Services tab.

Also under the Member Services tab,

supplier companies can upload their

Product Safety Assessment Sheets

which can be used by all member rental

companies.

The HRIA sends out a monthly newsletter

to all members via email. If you have

any local stories, new initiatives or news

about your company you’d like to summit

for the newsletter, please contact the

national office.

Best Practice

Survey

Thank you to all

members that

participated in the

Best Practice Survey

this past August.

The Survey has been

split into two parts,

with August’s survey

focusing on Financial

Performance and you

can find the results

from the survey in the

members section of

the HRIA website.

Keep an eye out for

the second part,

which will cover

employees and business initiatives.

Please participate and encourage other

members to do the same.

If we can increase the level of

participation, we’ll make the survey a

more valuable document to benchmark

industry businesses and gather key

information on issues affecting the

industry.

I’m a big fan of the Global Rental Alliance

Leadership Program and this year our

candidate is Brandon Gilbert from Coates

Hire in Queensland.

Brandon flew into Los Angeles on 1

"If we can increase

the level of

participation,

we’ll make the

survey a more

valuable document

to benchmark

industry businesses

and gather key

information on

issues affecting the

industry..."
