Photo of the Year Winners Announced

We are thrilled to announce the winner of this year’s photograph competition! After careful consideration and a thorough review of all the entries, we have selected photograph from each category that truly capture a sense of the industry.

General Hire Category

Winner – Australian Civil Solutions submitted by Mitch Power, Australian Civil Solutions, picture by Greg Barnett

The project was for Moreton Bay Council at Redcliffe Beach in Queensland.

For this category’s winning entry, the judges chose an image that immediately jumped off the page when every other shortlisted image was on screen. The natural lighting really makes this a winning photograph.

Access Equipment Category

Winner – Summit Tower Hire submitted by Lockie McDonald

From of a series of winning pictures, the image features Summit’s 70M Bronto Skylift XR unit. The project was part of a new brand-new transmission line through the Wambo/Dalby area, which will support new renewable energy projects in Queensland South West. These HV power lines are yet to be commissioned, so there were no active lines in use during the operation. The Helicopter is used to string the lines with draw-wire, which then is followed by the conductor that is seen when line is competed and built to run the power through the HV lines. Earthing lines are required because of static electricity from the pulling of line between the towers. Even with newly-built towers and poles, it is safe standard practice is to earth the EWPs.

The line connects Queensland to green and renewable energy for future generations to come.

Telehandler Category

Winner – Botany Access submitted by Pete Wilson

The sun sets on another day for one of Botany’s hard-working telehandlers.

Each of the winning shots receive a $200 Visa gift card and will be published on the Hire & Rental News website and/or newsletter.
