HRIA promotes COSBOA’s Go Local First small business toolkit

Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on the country’s small business community.  For many, their businesses simply won’t be reopening. Others have been able to adapt to serve customers and keep staff employed.

“Australian small businesses need local communities to back them now by ‘going local first’ when they need to buy a product or service.”

The HRIA has many small, independent business members and is always on the lookout for ways to support them. As members of the Council of Small Business Organisation of Australia (COSBOA) the HRIA welcomes the launch of their latest campaign: “Going Local First” initiative, which aims to help small businesses promote themselves to customers, many of whom have sought online alternatives to bricks and mortar transactions.

GO LOCAL FIRST will encourage Australians to choose local small businesses when they are purchasing products and services to help get the sector back on its feet, keep Australians in jobs, and money in local communities.

The toolkit provides resources to help small firms promote the GO LOCAL FIRST campaign and encourage customers or others in the community to do the same.

Included in the pack are tactics and tools to help achieve this, including ideas for social media and other “above the line” marketing tips.
