When it came time to upgrade his
excavator, Craig Althaus, Director of the
MCQ Group decided to shop around,
looking for a greater level of service.
With 25 pieces of equipment in the fleet,
the MCQ Group specialises in subdivision
and infrastructure work across south east
Queensland. The company has a range
of JCB telehandlers, wheel loader and
backhoes in the fleet, but had never
considered test-driving a JCB excavator.
After putting the first JS240 to work, the
company ordered a second JS240 when it
came time to replace another excavator
in the fleet. Both machines are currently
working in north Brisbane, digging
trenches up to 6.5m deep.
The first machine has clocked up 1,091
hours, while the second is up to
226
hours and we’re really happy with the
performance on site,” Craig said.
Standout features include the joystick
mounted track gear selection, which makes
changing speeds easier, and the Cushion
Control feature, which reduces operator
shock as well as shock to the dipper and
boom when excavating.
