A variety of mini earthmovers supplied
by Kennards Hire Seven Hills (NSW)
enabled building contractor, Dominic
Arciuli to carry out a project on a home
site where access was severely restricted.
Dominic hired 500kg and 650kg capacity,
high lift, rubber tracked dumpers, a mini
skid steer loader and one tonne excavator.
Each of the machines fitted through the
950
mm wide front gateway and down a
narrow passage to the backyard work site.
Dominic owns and operates N & F
Arciuli, which his parents Nick and Frances
started 43 years ago after migrating from
Italy, where Nick was a master stonemason.
On this job, we took out 130 tonne
of dirt and dug a 700mm x 700mm
Mini earthmovers solve tight site problem
Terex Construction had
more than 20 machines
on display at Bauma 2013,
including the new TLB890
backhoe loader.
Key to the TLB890’s
productivity is its high-
pressure hydraulic system,
with an efficient piston
pump option and high
breakout force on the
boom, dipper and bucket
services which give an
impressive slew torque to
provide powerful and quick
backfilling particularly when
working on cross slopes. The

footing for a perimeter
retaining wall. The
little earthmovers did a
great job, and we also
hired ground mats and
temporary fencing.”
The 500kg capacity
dumper has a tipping
height of 1400mm,
sufficient for direct
transfer to a skip or
standard two-tonne truck,
while the 650kg model
tips to a height of 1.6m.
