JCB has introduced its largest wheel
loader ever – the 467 ZX – which has a
4.2
m bucket and weighs 24 tonne, and is
built for bulk materials handling.
From 1997 to 2012, Australia’s
population rose by 22% while waste
generation increased 145%,” Greg Sealey,
JCB Construction Equipment Australia’s
Materials Handling Product Manager said.
Latest statistics indicate the
construction industry generated the largest
volume of waste with over 16.5 million
tonnes, which represents 31% of the total
waste generated from 2009 and 2010.
To cope with this, we’ve seen an
increase in waste management businesses
and a growing focus on recycling waste
for roads and other infrastructure related
projects. Of the 57.3 million tonnes of
waste produced from 2009 and 2010, 18.3
million tonnes was disposed of by waste
management companies.

Nifty-Lift has announced a new
partnership with German work platform
manufacturer, Ruthmann.
Established over 20 years ago, initially
focusing on the smaller end of the vehicle
mounted market, Nifty-Lift’s range has
grown to offer over 20 models to provide
height access solutions up to 26m.
The new venture enables Nifty-Lift to
offer Ruthmann Steiger truck mounted
EWPs up to 100m to the Australian and
New Zealand market.
Ruthmann’s range of truck-mounted
aerial work platforms includes the new
Height-performance series including
the Steiger T460, T540, and T7XX. The
Ruthmann EWPs now available in Australia
meet this increased
capacity with its large
bucket and powerful
engine, it’s also
designed to last. Prior
to its introduction, we
undertook rigorous stress
testing with 1.2 million
cycles completed in the
hardest digging and dump
conditions.
Regardless of what
industry you’re in,
equipment such as the
467
ZX, which has been
designed from the outset
to reduce operating costs,
is bound to be an asset.
With its optional five
speed transmission, cycle
times are increased and fuel costs reduced.
We’ve included an automatic engine
shutdown, preventing fuel waste during
idling, while the load sensing hydraulics
only consume power on demand.”
