Fixerz are a faster fencing fix offering a
functional, practical, and easy to use safer,
greener way to fix barrier mesh to star
pickets or any posts.
Developed by Kevin Poschelk and Robert
Lowcock in Bowen, Queensland, Fixerz are
ecology friendly and waste reducing.
“Fixerz reduce the size of star pickets,
eliminate the need for yellow safety
caps, zip ties, and the labour needed to
continually re-tie drooping or torn barrier
fencing. These simple and reusable devices
will result in considerable savings to the
constructors,” Kevin said.
“This stay-safe barrier-fencing device
design will simplify safety-fencing on
construction sites, road works, and other
work sites.
“Current forms of safety barrier fencing
are not long lasting. The plastic of the
barrier is not UV stable,” Kevin said.
“It tears easily under windy conditions
and when it starts to break down it
proves to be environmentally unfriendly,
particularly when plastic parts wash into
waterways and into our oceans.
“Each Fixerz consists
of a yellow, Hi Vis, long
lasting, UV-stabilised,
PVC ‘Tube’ extruded
with a ‘U’ section on
one side, and packaged
with a retaining wire
‘Pin’. The light weight
52mm diameter tube
is designed to fit over
standing Star Picket
posts, wooden pegs or
similar, ready to erect
the barrier fencing. The
retaining wire ‘Pins’ are
then used to hold the
barrier fencing firmly
against the ‘U’ section
of the Fixerz Tubes.
This holding is long term, and significantly
reduces maintenance costs. It’s a reusable
system that’s quick and easy to assemble
and dis-assemble.”
