The Hire and Rental Industry Association (HRIA), the Elevating Work Platform Association (EWPA), and the Telescopic Handler Association (TSHA) have come together to create a central hub for training and education across the Hire industry.
Creating a safe, skilled and sustainable industry is a key priority for HRIA, EWPA and TSHA. While each association runs its own initiatives to support these goals, training and education is something they all have in common.
“Enabling our members to run their businesses in a safe and profitable manner is a central objective of the HRIA. We realise that the needs of our members vary greatly and the Hire Industry Training portal provides a great resource for our members to select the educational assets that best suit their needs both now and in their respective futures,” said Nic Chiew, HRIA’s National Training Consultant.
The Hire Industry Training site is organised into four main areas:
- Developing People
- Transport Safety
- Careers in Hire
- Safety
All members should visit the Safety section, which now includes new online courses designed to help businesses create safer workplaces. New topics include
- Manual Handling Fundamentals
- Pedestrian Safety around Mobile Plant
- First Aid – Initial Response
- First Aid – Soft Tissue Injuries
- First Aid – CPR
The courses are short, affordable, and easy to access, making them a practical way to support your WHS/OHS responsibilities and meet your primary duty of care.
