HIRE25 Lands in Melbourne on June 4th & 5th

Next week, the HRIA once again hosts the Hire Industry at their annual convention, back in Melbourne for the first time since 2019.

“We never sit still,” said HRIA’s, National Commercial Manager, Martin Sinclair. “The level of energy that goes into producing a world-class convention is a testament to the culture of the wider industry and a measure of the members,” he added.

Event Members

This year, the HRIA has introduced extra features that address areas of the membership that will benefit from additional support. For the first time, the Hire Convention will feature an Events Tent, which is a zone dedicated to welcoming members from the events sector. HRIA members make a huge contribution to the success of Australia’s open-air events. From the Formula 1 and the Australian Open to local food & wine festivals and alfresco weddings. “We want to recognize the hard work these members put in to make these events such a success,” Martin said. “The Events Tent is our way to showcase some of the extraordinary work being done by these members. We’re here to support the members, and along with the events tour, HIRE25 coincides with the publication of the new marquee weighting guidance document, which has been updated in consultation with engineers to be much more user-friendly.”

New Members

For the first time, the HRIA will welcome brand-new members at a dedicated networking function aimed at familiarizing them with the industry. “Sometimes entering a new industry can be daunting, so we want to make every effort to unlock the power of networking among this highly collaborative sector,” continued Martin. “The members are here to share and support each other. We know how useful this can be when you’re just starting out. We recognize that jumping in at the deep end isn’t always for everyone. But our philosophy has always been one of inclusivity; we’re here for the long haul.”

Speaker Highlights

Exceeding expectations is always our biggest challenge. Choosing the best speakers every year takes time, planning, and no small measure of persuasion. This year, the HRIA boasts none other than one of the key figures who helped build the reputation of the world’s most cherished brands, Disney. You can see a preview from John Fomica below.

Hire Industry Excellence Awards

This year’s Melbourne event will play host to the biggest ever gala dinner, with guest numbers once again continuing to grow from the previous event. The numbers reflect the value placed upon the Awards, not just by the entrants but also by customers, who recognise the awards as a mark of excellence in their supply chain.
