CONVENTION IN FOCUS
At Bauma 2013, Atlas Copco launched
a new jaw variant that turns the CC 3300
Combi Cutter into a mobile shear.
To round off our offerings in the
silent demolition tools segment, we have
introduced a mobile shear jaw for our
CC 3300 Combi Cutter,” Wolfgang Hohn,
Product Line Manager Silent Demolition
Tools said.
With the new Mobile Shear (MS) jaw,
Atlas Copco addresses the demolition and
recycling industry as well as scrap yards.
We are aiming at applications such as
primary cutting of steel structures, cutting
and sizing profiles, beams, frames and
rebar,” Wolfgang said.
The CC 3300 has two movable jaws with
two lifting cylinders and offers a constantly
high crushing force throughout the entire
closing process. The combination of a
single and double-blade jaw arm provides
maximum stability even under extreme
loads, Wolfgang said.
Combi cutter becomes mobile shear
The new Mobile Shear jaws (MS
version) is an addition to the universal jaws
(
U version), steel cutting jaws (S version,
for secondary reduction) and box shape
jaws (B version) which are all available for
the CC 3300.
A central main pin supports the cutter
jaws in a stable manner. This concept also
reduces the time needed to change the
cutter jaws by up to 75% compared to
separately supported jaws. Both cutter
jaws can be fitted and removed as one
unit due to the Coupling and Positioning
System (CAPS), which holds both jaws
together even after they have been
removed. Since the cutter jaws can be
changed on site the time consuming
process of bringing the arms to the shop is
a thing of the past. In addition the blades
are reversible and exchangeable on site,
which also saves time.”

The compact new SC30TX stump cutter
from Vermeer features a 27hp (19.9kW)
Kohler EFI petrol engine that produces the
necessary torque for challenging ground
conditions and stubborn tree stumps.
According to Vermeer the SC30TX offers
intuitive controls, minimal service points,
a width of less than 1m and individually
controlled tracks that provide a zero
turning radius.
Along with low maintenance and ease of
starting the engine provides cost-effective
fuel economy. Its horizontal shaft design
allows for easier access and maintenance
due to the elimination of drive belts. The
optional AutoSweep system monitors
New stump cutter in compact package
engine speed and automatically adjusts
cutter wheel sweep to reduce engine and
structural stress.
The modified operator presence handle
design is now manufactured with a harder
exterior to improve wear and appearance.
This user-friendly handle system provides
additional capacitance sensing capability
and is intended to help protect the
operator.
The two individually controlled tracks
are each operated by their own joystick
which provides for simple, intuitive
operation and a zero turning radius. This,
along with its compact 35-inch-wide (88.9
cm) footprint and 7inch (17.7cm) tracks,
contributes to easier manoeuvrability
in tight spaces and reduced ground
disruption.
The 16inch (40.6cm) cutter wheel on the
SC30TX is positioned in the centre of the
unit for easy alignment with the stump.
Vermeer-exclusive Yellow Jacket cutter
system offers extended life of cutting
teeth and easy maintenance. Each tooth
provides two full wear cycles, while its
universal design can fit any position on the
cutter wheel. A chip containment curtain
directs cuttings to a pile and away from
the operator.
