CONVENTION IN FOCUS
Petro Industrial’s Self Bunded Cubes are fabricated from high grade
mild steel (inner tank) and mild steel (outer tank) giving an overall
capacity of 110% of volume.
The two tank system ensures added safety with the inner tank
containing the initial volume of liquid. According to the company,
in the unlikely event this tank develops a leak, the outer tank will
prevent the liquid from escaping into the environment. Further, Petro
Industrial said all seams are welded to exacting standards.
PETRO Cube’s mild steel inner tank is designed to be easily
removable for maintenance and inspection.
PETRO Cubes are available in a range of capacities, and can
be transported by truck or shipping container, suiting most
hydrocarbons storage and transport requirements.
The cubes meet strict quality standards, are PPG2 compliant and
EU approved and are designed and approved to AS1692 and AS1940,
Petro Industrial said.
All pumps, connections and hoses are housed and can be locked
within the bund, even in use. The cubes can be stacked three high
when empty and two high when full.
The 6300L, 6500L, 10000L and 13000L models are supplied with an
Overfill Protection Valve / Anti Syphon Valve and Overfill Alarm Unit.

Cook’s Body Works, an Australian
manufacturer of standard and custom-
built motor bodies recently engaged the
Melbourne branch of CAPS Australia to
assist with sourcing 10 ‘box-type’ portable
air compressors to be truck mounted
for one of its cable laying and telecoms
infrastructure clients.
We looked at all the different
compressor companies in the market
but none could offer all the benefits the
Airman machines could deliver,” Simon
Connaughton, Product Development
Engineer for Cook’s Body Works said.
With the assistance of CAPS’ Victorian
sales team, 10 portable Airman PDS75S-
5
C1 (75cfm) box-type air compressors were
ordered to fulfil Cooks’ delivery deadline.
We certainly appreciate CAPS’
competitive pricing and quick delivery.
The Airman portables were self-contained,
with no external connections required, and
also provided safety benefits,” Simon said.
Used to power jackhammers, the
operation of the portable compressors
is aided by several safety features that
CAPS supplies compressor safety in the trenches
eliminate the risk of
injuries. The control
panel of the unit
is situated at the
operator’s chest
height, and daily
maintenance is made
via side-mounted doors,
avoiding the need to
bend into confined
spaces.
Eric Low, Airman
product specialist with
CAPS in Victoria, said:
Typically, compressors
mounted onto truck
bodies aren’t
optimised’ for such
a position, making it
difficult for operators to
reach controls. It is also
restrictive and potentially unsafe to access
control panels and maintenance areas.
The Airman range was designed with
safety, comfort and ease-of-use in mind,”
Eric said.
It provides for easy maintenance, with
a side-by-side radiator and oil cooler.
Spillages are minimised by having all
machine fluids removed from the outside.”
