Your Event Solution was
named as a finalist for the
Best Small Stand at the
Sydney Event Showcase in
August 2012.
“We knew we wanted to
do something different and
design a stand that would
create a talking point among
exhibition visitors,” Paul Ford,
Sales Manager at Your Event
Solution said.
“With limited floor space
we had to think laterally and
thought about utilising the
space above the stand.
“From ceiling trusses we
strung a series of festoon
lights to umbrellas that made
the umbrellas appear to be
floating in the air.
“The event was the first
chance for Your Event
Solution to showcase its new range of contemporary furniture.
“Our quality product range is on trend and allows event managers
to add their own flair and styling to our pieces to create any number
of looks,” Paul said.

Carlton Hire Group and its events company Carlton Events supplied
the World Rowing Championships Lake Karapiro 2010 with a
large grandstand cover 20m wide and 135m long built on top of a
structured grandstand.
The whole structure was engineered and required a building
consent from the local council. It also required steel ropes from the
apex of the marquee to concrete blocks under the structure.
The Carlton Events team needed to work at such heights they
required strapping into harnesses attached to cranes in order to pull
the marquee roof covers on, Carlton Events’ Phillip Quay said.
The legs of the grandstand were made up of marquee legs which
had been joined together. After the event Carlton Hire Group
received two orders for smaller grandstand covers from Australia.
“Factors considered for the design included accommodating
the pitch of the grandstand, and ensuring we had the necessary
download for the marquee,” Phillip said.
“The marquee footplates required their own scaffold towers, with
the footplates welded onto them, and these towers were then tied
into the body of the
grandstand which
helped provide some of
the download. We also
ran four 2500kg truck
strops from the base
of each footplate into
pegs into the ground.”
