EQUIPMENT SHOWCASE
JCB Construction Equipment Australia
will now offer the full line of JCB Vibromax
dynamic compaction equipment in
Australia, JCB’s Vibromax Product Manager,
Jon French said.
“Until now, we’ve only offered the single
drum 7.5 tonne VM75 and 11.5 tonne
VM115 models in Australia. However,
in response to strong demand, we’re
expanding our product offering to include
six additional single drum models, one twin
drum model and a remote controlled model
for use in trenching environments.
“The latest single drum models include
the 4.6 tonne VM46, 13.2 tonne VM132,
the 14.6 tonne VM146, the 16.6 tonne
VM166 and the 20 tonne VM200. Drum
widths range from 1400mm on the VM46 to
2100mm on all other single drum models.
“All models except the VM46 and
VM1500F provide operators with the choice
of two vibration frequencies.
“The exciter shaft, which sits inside
the roller drum to control the vibration
frequencies, is easier to service due to its
one piece design,” Jon said.

dynamic compaction equipment in Australia
“The one piece exciter shaft is also the
key to the Vibromax’s ability to hit hard.
For example, the VM115 features nominal
amplitude of either 1.96cm or 0.9cm, with
centrifugal forces of 261kN or 163kN to
deliver a compaction depth of either 90cm
or 70cm.“

Atlas Copco Construction Tools is
launching a new range of three ride-on
trowels for concrete floor specialists with
robust design, smooth operation and good
balance for great concrete surfaces.
The new machines are fully mechanical
in two sizes: the 1,880mm BG740 and
the 2,336mm BG910. Both trowels are
equipped with reliable engines and heavy
duty drive trains, all built into a service-
friendly frame.
The BG740 is equipped with four blades
per rotor. A torque converter allows the
machine to move quickly on concrete and
sustain the same torque, saving energy.
The BG910 has larger rotor diameters
and is equipped with five blades per rotor
providing a more accurate surface in a
shorter working time.
For big jobs and high demands, the
range is rounded off by the hydrostatic
BG920 featuring reliability, power and
responsiveness together with robust
design, a Kubota diesel engine and a
heavy duty gearbox. The BG920 is also
equipped with five blades per rotor for a
more accurate surface in a shorter working
time.

Ride-on trowels
As a response to a failure in tanks that
have been brought in from overseas,
in-house engineers at custom container
solutions supplier, SCF Group, have
developed a next generation pneumatic
tank to reduce long term maintenance costs
and risks associated with powdered goods
transportation.
The field-tested, AS 1210 and WorkSafe
compliant Gen 4 Pneumatic Tanks feature
internal pressurisation and pneumatic
load systems, which allow products such as
cement and quicklime to be transported in
powder form and mixed on site
when the product is ready to be
used.
“It’s a smarter and safer
solution for our clients in the
cement, mining or infrastructure
industries,” Jamie Driscoll, SCF Tank
Containers Divisional Manager
said.
“We’ve put the tanks
through their paces in the field
to determine their strength
and durability and have been
overwhelmed by the results under
harsh Australian conditions.
“Improving our product offering
through innovation has always
been the focus of our business and
Pneumatic tank for powder transport
this tank is proof there is always a smarter,
more cost effective way to transport goods
using latest technology.”
The tank is a major milestone for SCF
Group, which was founded by CEO, Richard
Sykes in 1991. With over 60 employees,
the Group manages a growing fleet and
delivers across Australia with offices in
Adelaide, Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne,
Brisbane and Perth and a nationwide
network.
