New Generation skid steers offer safety
with the powertrain components and
the cab offset to provide a well-balanced
machine,” Ken said.
The PowerBoom is available in radial and
vertical lift configurations and uses 20%
more steel than other conventional double-
arm skid steer designs, ensuring durable
strength. The result is a stronger, more
durable design that provides more reach at
maximum lift height,” Ken said.
Ken said the new models are fuel
efficient and have saved customers in the
United States up to $US3000 per year in
fuel costs.
“Powerful performance is a given across
all new wheeled and tracked models. The
Dieselmax engine has enough torque
for the toughest jobs and its efficient
operation results in a 15% decrease in fuel
consumption.”
All wheeled and tracked models are built
for versatility and suitable for use with a
range of attachments including buckets,
brooms, brush cutters, auger, cold planers,
rock saws, stump grinders, trenchers and
breakers.

JCB launched its New Generation skid
steer loaders with 10 wheeled models
and seven tracked models in the lineup,
featuring side door entry and single
loader arm design to enhance safety.
Among the biggest changes is a larger
entrance space to the machine. More
than double the size of traditional
designs, JCB’s side entry means operators
don’t have to climb over buckets and
attachments or underneath a fully raised
attachment, making the skid steers safer.
“The new, modular design, fully
sealed cabin makes the New Generation
skid steers among the quietest around,”
Ken Butler, JCB Construction Equipment
Australia Product Manager said.
“The cabin is up to 46% bigger than
competitor models, so operator comfort
is assured. The exceptional comfort
is complemented by 270 degrees of
uninterrupted all round vision.”
Visibility is delivered partly via the JCB
exclusive monoboom design; the JCB
PowerBoom.
“We adapted the technology from our
telehandlers to develop the single-arm
boom. The PowerBoom design is stable,

and can tip up to an angle of 70 degrees
to ensure rapid unloading of even sticky
materials.
Efficiency, durability and safety are the
key attributes of the unit which can be
driven at up to 30kms per hour.
The ROPS & FOPS II cabin is fitted with a
rapidly deployable swivel operator station
and seat so the operator is always facing
the road while driving. A single lever
enables the operator to quickly rotate
the bi-directional driving position for full
control when loading or tipping.
For safety, the operator has full,
unimpeded vision in every direction. All
controls are simple toggle switches and
action monitors are highly visible and
clearly labeled. Other safety features
include an optional reversing camera.
Because maneuverability is a key
requirement for dumpers, Fiori designers
included high floatation 18.00 x 19.5
tyres (including spare), controlled by
